The Cyprus Agency of Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education (CYQAA) announces its external evaluation for recognition as an Accrediting Agency for Medical Education by the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME).
The Agency has submitted its application on 1 March 2019 and the onsite visit of the WFME Recognition Team took place between 24 – 27 June 2019.
The WFME Recognition Team consisted of renowned experts from the United States of America, Canada, Poland, Australia and the WFME Project Coordinator:

- Ms Barbora Hrabalova – Secretary (WFME Project Coordinator)
- Dr Carol Hodgson Birkman – Member
- Prof. Lois Nora – Member
- Prof. Jadwiga Mirecka
The external evaluation of CYQAA by WFME was an initiative of the Agency and it is pursued within the Agency’s commitment, to its stakeholders, students, and the society in general, to ensure the quality of its work. This evaluation is an integral part of the Agency’s wider self-awareness and accountability.
The external evaluation by WFME is multilevel and the main assessment parameter is the implementation of the WFME standards for Medical Education. The evaluation is expected to be completed within the next months.
