George Boustras
George Boustras is a Professor in Risk Assessment and Director of the Centre of Risk and Decision Sciences (CERIDES – Excellence in Innovation and Technology) at European University Cyprus. He is a Member of the EU Mission: Adaptation to Climate Change. He is the UNESCO Chair in Disaster Risk Reduction and Societal Safety in SE Mediterranean. He advises the Government of the Republic of Cyprus and the Government of the Hellenic Republic and has provided advisory services to International Organizations and the European Commission. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Safety Science (Elsevier). 10 of his students are PhDs. In May 2024 he received the “Distinguished Researcher Award” at the Annual Awards for Excellence in Research 2024 of European University Cyprus.
