Reminder - Call for hosts: 2021-2022 EUA events
 
EUA is inviting applications from member universities to host the following events in 2021 and 2022:
 
EUA Annual Conference and General Assembly
EUA Annual Conferences are a unique platform for discussion, and an unrivalled opportunity for university leaders to network with peers from Europe, contribute to shaping policy at European level and gain valuable information on the latest developments. The annual General Assembly of all EUA members is also an integral part of the Annual Conference.
 
The deadline for submission of full bids for the 2021 and/or 2022 EUA Annual Conference and General Assembly is 29 November 2019.
 
 
European Learning & Teaching Forum
The European Learning & Teaching Forum provides an opportunity for university and other stakeholders to meet and discuss current and shape future developments in learning and teaching at European universities. The Forum builds on EUA’s work with its member universities on this topic. Alongside the bottom-up approach, the Forum makes use of EUA’s extensive policy work in European higher education.
 
The deadline for submission of full bids for the 2021 and/or 2022 European Learning & Teaching Forum is 29 November 2019.
 
 
European Quality Assurance Forum (EQAF)
Since 2006, the European Quality Assurance Forum (EQAF), organised by EUAENQAEURASHE and ESU, has become the premier event for quality assurance in Europe with participants from across Europe and beyond. As the largest annual gathering of the European higher education quality assurance community, EQAF provides a platform for discussion, professional development and exchange of experiences among the main stakeholders in this field, including representatives from higher education institutions and quality assurance agencies, students, researchers and policy makers. Joint bids between universities and members of the other organising associations are strongly encouraged.
 
The deadline for submission of bids for the 2021 and/or 2022 European Quality Assurance Forum is 17 January 2020.

Strengthening Institutions for Quality Assurance – "Seminar on Quality Assurance of Distance Learning (E-Learning) Programmes of Study" - 20/09/2019 (Num. 2)

Οn 20 September 2019, the Cyprus Agency of Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education, held at its offices in Nicosia, a “Seminar on Quality Assurance of Distance Learning (E-Learning) Programmes of Study.” More than thirty (30) administrative and academic personnel of higher education institutions, who are involved in the design of distance learning programmes, participated.

Participants had the opportunity to learn about the requirements of distance learning programmes of study and the development of study guides, as well as to identify the necessary standards to ensure their quality.

The seminar mainly focused on the following:

  • Defining distance learning
  • The philosophical basis of distance learning programmes - Technology and Epistemology - The experience so far
  • Methodology and Interaction. (Student-student, student-teacher, student-learning material)
  • Teachers and Teaching/Diversification
  • Quality characteristics of the supporting educational material
  • Assignments and final examination

Strengthening Institutions for Quality Assurance - "Seminar on Institutional Evaluation" - 13/09/2019 ((Num. 2)

On September 13, 2019, the Cyprus Agency for Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education (CYQAA), organized successfully an information and training seminar on Institutional Evaluation at Cleopatra Hotel.

The seminar was organized, within the framework of CYQAA’s mission to support, through the procedures provided by the relevant legislation, the continuous improvement and upgrading of higher education institutions and their programs of study.

Approximately 100 administrative and academic personnel, of the institutions, who are involved in the preparation of their applications for institutional evaluation had the opportunity to learn about:

  • The legal framework and the criteria for institutional evaluation
  • The templates for building infrastructures and facilities
  • The issue that may arise during the external evaluation procedure.

The seminar will take place on 20 September 2019, (time: 10:00 – 13:00) at CYQAA Offices (Nicosia) and it is addressed to administrative and academic personnel of the institutions, who are involved in the design of distance learning programmes (2 representatives from each institution)

Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the requirements of distance learning programmes of study and the development of Study Guides, as well as to identify the necessary standards to ensure their quality.

Strengthening Institutions for Quality Assurance - "Seminar on Institutional Evaluation" - 13/09/2019

The Cyprus Agency of Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education, within the framework of its mission to support, through the procedures provided by the relevant legislation the continuous improvement and upgrading of higher education institutions and their programs of study, is organizing the seminar “Institutional Evaluation.”

The seminar will take place on 13 September 2019, (time: 10:00 – 13:00) at Cleopatra Hotel (Makedonia Banquet Room), in Nicosia and it is addressed to administrative and academic personnel, of the institutions, who are involved in the preparation of their applications for institutional evaluation (2 representatives for each institution).

The seminar will contribute toward a common understanding and interpretation of external evaluation criteria in general and those relevant to building and technological infrastructures in particular.
